Switching from pre-settled to settled status

Hi all,

Just a question to those who have already received pre-settled status. Does the Home office tell you from which date onwards you can apply for settled status in the future? Or the point at which one is eligible to apply for the settled status? If not, how can one find out the starting point of the qualifying residential period. E.g. in my case, I started living with my partner 6 months before we got married and I got the EEA Residence card 3 months after my marriage date. So there is a 9 month difference between when we started living together and the date of issue of my EEA Residence card.

Thanks in advance for your time!

Residence card was never required it’s optional so start from marriage date . You can calculate 5 years

I had asked the same question by calling the official EU Settlement Scheme hotline and I posted what I learned in the last 2 posts of this thread: eea-route-applications/settlement-schem ... 80054.html

Next time they will say it start from the day you
First saw EEA family member

On the EU settlement website it says non EU national who is separated from EEA national can also apply .

I also send question and they wrote yes you can apply

But when I called them even their team leader said I need to get divorced . Separation doesn’t count

I told them thank you and hang up. I have no idea who is working in the call center
