Applicants (aged 18 or over) are required to provide information about previous
criminal convictions in the UK and overseas, and are only required to declare past
criminal convictions that appear in their criminal record in accordance with the law of
the State of conviction at the time of the application. There is no requirement to
declare spent offences, cautions or alternatives to prosecution for example fixed
penalty notices for speeding.

Hi Seagul, but it was done by me 1 year ago only. I heard that police caution for shoplift is noted in criminal database check. I think this is unspent caution. Does it influance my application for settlement or permanent residency? The is an a droid app credit exit id something like that i take picture of passport and myself. Does they still ask you for giving cautions? Is it better to mention it or not.? What other things influence my settlement be granted to me? Is there anyway to check it before applying? Thanks please help me since i m very stressed. Bruce

In my opinion if you can wait 10 to 15 days. Then before applying check what is in the record by requesting a basic DBS. Its free and only takes 10 to 15days.
If nothing written on it then dont mention and if they mentioned you causion sometimes they do then mention it on your application and upload the DBS as well with your application.
Here is the link for basic DBS request, its free.

Hi guys,
I really need help. Tomorrow I and my friend are gonna apply for permanent settlement in the UK. We will be doing it through an android mobile application. It's named: EU Exit: ID document check. We both have EU country(Poland) Passport and National ID. But we will use a chip to scan since I think If I have ID then I need to send it later by post. Please does anyone used that app, and went through all steps of this mobile application process. How does it look? Do they ask for criminal background there? Do they check, the government, if applicantwas convicted? If yes is it comprehensive Database check, or basic? I hope I am not asked about this application process.
The point I am stressed is that I never been sentenced in court or done any imprisonment both my 7 years in the UK and outside. But what I am worried about is that I have been caught in a shop with two bottles of whiskey last year. And the police came and issued me with a police caution. I need to sign it, though I have been drunk.
I really do regret this happening, and now I don't know how this may influence my application?
Please help me. I still hope on mobile phone application they will not ask me for my criminal offences, cautions? If yes what I suppose to say? be silent or tell the truth?
I would be very grateful for your help guys.

Dont hide anything at all.
Its a pretty 5 to 7 steps application.
They will ask "Criminality check" and "Extremist check".
So even if you have caution normally what I have seen personally in enhanced clearance or basic DBS.
They do mention cautions and one of my friend CTC was refused because of caution.
So don't hide anything at all. I think u will get your settled status.
But I repeat dont hide anything just tell the truth.
Good luck.

Does it means anything that I m alcoholic under therapy.. And I been drunk while issued a caution.? I want be hiding. Though some of my friends advice me to not mention it. On what categories to they assess who is refused and who accepted. What if they refuse me. What than I need to leave or can I apply again next year? Suppose I hurry with application or I can wait longer? What factors could help me? Does it matter that I have higher education or speak fluent English? Please for help. Bruce

I am talking about caution relating to crime.
You took it too deep.
Request your free police certificate and see what is on the record and then apply.
Its free.
