Change of BRC due to surname change

I am non EU have been granted my PSS at the end of august. Then I changed my surname on my passport and now need to change it in my BRC as well. I called HO resolution centre today to find out thee necessary steps to take. I was told to follow two steps:
1) Apply for change of the name in Eu Settlement Scheme- print out the necessary page with a reference number and send it with your new passport (done today)
2) Go to gov.uk website and book a new biometrics appt for BRC renewal.

So far so good! But, given the time limitations and previous hassle I had to go through, I was wondering is it too risky to do it before Xmas?

Is there anyone experienced BRC change due to surname change? How long does it take it to be renewed?

Hello it91,

I’m in exactly the same situation - need to change my name on BRC. My biometric appointment is tomorrow.
Have you received your new card yet? Do you know how long the process will take?
There is very limited information on this and I had to wait one month before I discovered what I’m supposed to do. Need to travel frequently for work and concerned this will take a long time.
Thanks!
