Hi everybody, I hope to find somebody can help me. I'm Venezuelan girl with residence in uk for 5 years I've been married with a Portuguese and we wanted to bring my mom to Uk to live for while. The thing is she wants to have rights to work here. So my question is: Is possible to apply for a extended family member EEA or other visa can allowed to work here?

Hello

Your husband cannot bring his mother in law just because he wants to.

He needs to demonstrate that she depends on him and/or she is part of his household. But still, recent changes made reduced the scope of Extended Family members who qualify (read bellow).

Application of these nature when there is no genuine dependency are likely to fail. In such case, your mum won't be able to apply for a visitor visa to the UK in the future as she would've shown an intention to settle in the UK.

I would like also to remind you an important change that happened in 2017:

Yes you can bring your Mom and Dad .. it's lot easier then before . Do you have Pre Settled Status ? You can bring her with EEA FAMILY PERMIT EU SETTLEMENT . She will be able to work full time or own a business

Before applying EU SETTLEMENT EEA FAMILY PERMIT for your mother make sure both you and your HUSBAND has STATUS under EU SETTLEMENT

YOU CAN READ MORE IN HERE

This posts are a bit confusing.
If I'm married to British person who never had a different nationality and I'm form non EU, will I be able to bring my sister to the UK?

If my partner was EU national, would I be able to bring my sister?

Probably better to start your own topic instead of tagging onto another users thread!

I am asking on this thread because answers are contradictory.

Your questions is not the same as the original posters who is married to an EU citizen (non British). The EEA/EU rules don't apply to your circumstances.
