EU settlement scheme family permit from italy

Hello everyone, please I need your advice .
I'm based in Italy with a permanent residence card and my mom is an Italian citizen now based in UK, I applied for the EU settlement Scheme since on the 7th of June 2019 and the visa office replied that they have received my application on the 18 of June 2019. Well it's been 5 months months, I have called several times, sent emails they only replied saying that my application is awaiting decision and the case has been escalated 4 times now
. I am worried, I need my passport to travel and I hope they haven't lost it.
Any help or similar experience from anyone?
