Eu settlement applications delay for non eu ( eu family members)

I m new here, so didnt read if previously discussed,
Got married in Uk 6 years before,
Previously no residence card,
We both applied for eu settlement scheme on 7th of April,
She got SS on 29th of April,
Later on applied for step son ( Spanish) , he got ss on same day in June,
Still waiting for their rply, its been more than 8 months now,
I know its because of the complexity of my case because i was refused for residence card previously,
We keep calling them, but still saying that application has been escalated since November,
Its obviously frustrating,
Guys what should we do?
Any suggestions plz? And what do u think how long it gonna take more ?
Probably they r waiting for the election and will follow the new government’s policies ( as i assumed)
