Proof of dependency For Settled Status

Hi,

I’ve applied for Eu settled status about 3 mounts ago. I’ve spent my last 5 years with a family permit of an EU citizen. (I’m extended family member). I provided proof or relationship, dependency etc as required at that time.

Now after 5 years applied for settled status but today received an email from home office asking for proof of financial dependency for current time or during last 5 years in the uk. They also required proof of residency for last 5 years.

to my knowledge I only required to proof continuous residency for last 5 years which I did using bank statement and council tax bill. My family permit was a sticker attached to my passport not on a biometric card. that’s I had to send passport for ID verification.

I worked part time few years and home office detected residency until 2017. My husband works now and I’m looking for jobs. How can I proof that I was dependent on EU family member in last 5 years or at present?

I applied under eu settlement scheme not EEA PR.

Can anyone show a way forward please. I was given 14 days to provide those evidence.
Thanks

As per your own words on your previous post from three month's ago seeking advice as to how to apply for the EEA route:
- we do not live on same accommodation as our sponsor
- we're not dependent on the sponsor now.
This means you were not dependent relatives then and thus were not eligible for the Settlement Scheme or the EEA route.
Now after 5 years applied for settled status but today received an email from home office asking for proof of financial dependency for current time or during last 5 years in the uk. They also required proof of residency for last 5 years.

Since you can only qualify for the Settlement Scheme as a spouse, partner, descendant, or dependent relative, then it makes sense the Home Office asks you for proof of your dependency, just as in the EEA route.
I worked part time few years and home office detected residency until 2017. My husband works now and I’m looking for jobs.
Understanding that both of you are non-EU, you or your husband's professional activities are irrelevant to the application.

Are you or are you not, at present, dependent relatives of your brother or live in his household? if you are not, then you are not eligible for the Settlement Scheme. Also, since you yourself declared ina previous post that at that time you did not meet the conditions of a dependent relative, then it is impossible for you to "prove" any dependency for the last 5 years. Anyone advising you how to do that will be leading you to deceive the Home Office, which is in breach of the strict rules of this forum.
I applied under eu settlement scheme not EEA PR.
As explained above, it is reasonable that you still need to prove dependency to be granted status under the Settlement Scheme.

Hi,
Kamoe, thanks for explanation. But I’m now seriously worried. Take care
