Biometric appointment booking

Hi all,

Please could someone give me some info on how to book a biometric appointment. I have looked at the UKVAS site but I see no option to create an account and then make an appointment, it just has a Log in tab. Do you have to phone them to make a booking or are you sent a link when you make your Settlement scheme application? I am applying for Settled status next week and I want to get a biometric appointment asap after applying.

Thanks

You make an appointment after an online application submission. You can't make an appointment without applying for something first.

As per your previous posts, it appears you already have a BRC. If you are using that to apply for your Settled status through the app, then you won't be asked for biometrics.

Thank you for the replies. Yes I do already have a BRC, it great to hear that I won't need to go for biometrics again, I just assumed that they need it again with every application.

Not really. This is because if you already have a valid BRC then you will not be issued a new card by default, thus no new biometrics needed.

I understand that your status under the Settlement Scheme will only be an electronic one, and you are supposed to continue using your EEA BRC until December 2020, unless you proactively apply to "convert" your BRC into a Settlement Scheme card (see this post for other member's experiences on this process). If you do do that, then I believe you do need to go for biometrics again.

I suppose we all need to apply to covert our BRC cards at some point this year, but for the moment this is optional and you can keep using your old BRC card for travel and proving your right to work.
