Hey member's. I need a help , i submitted my application on 6 of jan to change a name on my brc . Do you guys know how long they take to change ? Plus i already booked my flight for 6 feb and with my application I submitted my ticket and covering letter . Do you think ukvi do care about your urgency

End-2019, I helped a family member with name change on BRC. It took 2 months.

The Home Office is very unpredictable with this kind of things. They can take any time really. But 1 month between submission and return of the new BRC seems a bit short to me.

I already got pre settle status on new name though .. i attached that as well.. when i check online prove right to work and when I enter old brc number . Its shows me pre settle status date . But name is still same . Do you think if i ring ukvi they might can help?

You have nothing to lose by calling them.

The check online is helpful to prove your right to work but you can't use it for travelling. You need to have the BRC in hand to travel.

I have had a name change on my settled status.. needed to send my new passport fir that.. name was changed on website after around 1.5 months. When I called to ask about a new BRC.. I was told I need to apply separately for this on gov website and attend a biometric appointment. I did this on Dec 18th and still waiting for the new BRC.
Website says 8 weeks processing time.. so I’m still waiting.

By the way.. EU Settlement help centre told me I can travel with my old BRC if I’m holding both old and new passports. Worth sending them an email to make sure.

Okay thanks for information. I will call them and ask Monday .. i am hoping may be they will give me before 6th feb.. i booked my trip last year i didn’t know that pre settle status will take two month..!

Before changing my name on brc I applied a eu settlement on new name .. because when i called them that i have to change my name on brc they told me you file can be reject because of new law. So I applied pre settle in October .. i wrote them good covering letter that why i need urgently my brc . Hopefully my case worker show some sympathy on me

I spoke to eu settlement people today . They said we can travel on pre settlement in and out of uk.. but when I try to check my status online it dont show anymore. It was showing before with old brc number .. i think they replaced mine today

Anybody knows why cant i view and prove my status even with eu settlement??

I don’t know.. but I have the same issue now.. when I enter my passport number I can see my status but with BRC number I can’t.. maybe they have already replaced my BRC but they just need to send it... I hope!!

You can travel with your old BRC as far as I know.

But my old brc dont show anything online . If i checking plus do you think immigration check will let me go on old brc.. i really need urgent travel .. but i dont know what to do my Solictor keep saying i can travel on pre settle,

But it is total 8 weeks process??? Or they can take 6 months

Received my new card today. Took exactly 8 weeks from biometric appointment date until I received the new card.
