EEA Family Permit

Hi Folks

Looking for some help.

I have been living in the UK for 7 years and have a Registration Certificate as a Residence Document.

I was going to apply for Settled Status and wanted to check if I can still use the EEA Family Permit to get a visa for extended family members if I get settled status.

If not, then I will not apply just now as the EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit does not allow applications for extended family members.

Thanks for reading and hope you can help.

Kind Regards
mcuk

Hello

Are you an EEA national or yourself dependent on an EEA national?

Are the moment, both schemes exist at the same time:

- EEA routes are open
- EU Settled Status is open

Both allow more or less the same thing.

If you apply under the EU settled status, you will get "Settled" status. You will still be an EEA national.

To answer your question, you can apply for Settled Status, and still sponsor an application under the EEA route. In other words, your applying to one route does not prevent you from being able to sponsor/apply for the other. They are not mutually exclusive, and a number of people have indeed applied and have coexisting statuses in both.
