PR instead ILR under Eu law

Hi all,

I am a new to this forum your help needed on this matter ASAP
My friend got married to Eu national and was granted RC in 2015 Nov.
He is still in marriage and due for ILR in three months
But the problems is his work wife has two years gap in employment as a self employed ,rest three years she has work proof ,now his solicitor advised him to Put an ILR application and there are chances he will get an other five years Visa
My question is can he apply for PR instead ILR if yes what are the requirements for this does he still needs his wife 5 years work proof
Plz help

Hello

Is his wife British or EEA national?

Under what route did he get is current residence?

His wife is eu national and she has applied recently for settled status ILR but still waiting for a decision ,

He has requests his work history from HMRC. and according to this she covers five years working in uk as a self employed but can he applied for PR ?

As he has having trouble applying settled status in th uk as the home office endorsed his residence card on his Pakistani passport and he is uncle to use online service

Kindly advise on it

He got his residence due to his married to eu national in 2014
