Good day all,

I (Non EU nation) was given a 5 year resident card as a dependent to EU National.
I was brought to the UK by my in-law who is the EU national from non EU country.
My brother and the wife who is the EU national have divorced.
Even with the break in the relationship between my brother and wife, we still do things in common e.g giving assistance to each other as family.

My Brother have retained his right and also got his permanent residence.
I have one year remaining on my resident card as Extended family member to EU national.

In addition, I got married to a British citizen with whom I got one child. I have live in the UK for 8 year now. I have been working for continuous 4years and is on going.

My question is what do I need to do to attend my permanent resident at the end of the remaining one year. I will be greatfull with you assistance in this regards.

Hello

As an extended family member of an EEA national, to keep eligibility you need to be dependent and/or part of the household of the EEA national.

You moved and founded your own family, you are no longer part of household.

You work so you are no longer dependent of the EEA national.

These conditions will be tested when you try to go from EEA 5 years to EEA PR.

Did you try the EU Settlement Scheme? It will probably raise similar issues.
