Hello,
Can someone please give a bit of guidance here.
I am a South African and my spouse is Portuguese.
We have been resident in the UK for over 25 years.
My wife has been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain last August 2019.
I will be 70 at the end of this year and my wife is 67 and we both suffer from some ill-health.
I have also noticed that my South African passport has expired and needs renewal.
The EEA (PR) application says that I need a Biometric Information.
How would I go about getting this. Would this be on my SA Passport?
I am very concerned that I have been told that I have I must have this all sorted by the end of 2020 for Brexit.
Thank you

Why are you not applying for EU Settled Status? You don't need PR if you apply for Settled Status. EEA PR won't be relevant after December and you will need to apply for EU Settled Status anyway.
You do need a valid passport though. Home Affairs is arranging urgent processes for passport renewals.
You need to enroll biometrics at the UKCVAS centre after you have applied, i.e. fingerprints and digital photo.

Thank you so much for a quick reply and your help.
Please can you give me some idea of costs for a SA Passport renewal and also the costs for EU Settled status.
How do I go about making an application for EU Settled Status?
Where would I find the EU Settled Status form?
As my spouse has ILR, does she need to apply for EU Settled Status as well?
Best regards,

I cannot get onto the webiste, but I believe is less than £50.
and also the costs for EU Settled status.
It is a free application. EEA PR is £65.
How do I go about making an application for EU Settled Status?
Do you have a residence card as the family member of an EU citizen?? How did your spouse get ILR, was it the EU settled status she applied for?
Where would I find the EU Settled Status form?

How did your spouse get ILR, what application did she make/fee paid etc? Was it the EU settled status she applied for?

I did try the SA Home Office website - its seems to be offline.
I don't have a residence card as a family EU member.
Do I need one as I was never told that I do.
My wife applied online for EU Settlement Status and was granted ILR. She provided her passport details as evidence as been an EU national.
I was a little confused she abot the application and she tol me that she did apply for EU Settlement Status and was granted a ILR.

How have you been proving your right to reside in the UK?? How did you enter the UK then and what if any, applications have you made in the past to remain in the UK?

When we arrived in the UK , we went to the UK Home Office and as my wife is an EU citizen we were both given NI numbers and I also received a authorisation to live in the UK. My wife has just reminded me that I do have a residence card. We both have been working in the UK for the last 20 years.

It is not the UKVI that issue NI numbers. It is the DWP that issues those.
and I also received a authorisation to live in the UK.
What exactly were you given to prove your right to live and work in the UK?
My wife has just reminded me that I do have a residence card. We both have been working in the UK for the last 20 years.
Is your residence card current or has it expired?

Yes it is current.
You correct it's DWP .

You can use your residence card to apply for settled status.
