Update your EU Settlement Scheme details:

Best to make this a sticky.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this. If not perhaps it could be redirected.
My question is this. My wife and I travel to Indonesia every couple of years. On departure from Indonesia my wife has been required to produce her UK permanent residence card along with her passport.
My wife has now been granted Settled Status but of course the UK Government provides no actual document to prove this. I know that the person checking the status needs to enter a 'Share Code' in a specific UK Government website. What I don't understand is how this can be checked by the airline at check-in at an overseas airport.
I welcome any information.

Many thanks

Before travelling outside the UK:

Update or replace your biometrics residence card (BRC)
you want to upgrade your BRC issued under the EEA regulations to a BRC issued under the EU Settlement Scheme

I am a bit surprised.

I travelled with my non EU wife to Morocco in the summer and she was allowed back no issues.

I am an EU citizen, she has a BRC used under EU law which expires in 2023 and we both have pre settled status.

Was she lucky or did I misunderstand the point?

But you had a physical brc card to show to immigration at the airport?? Because I have similar situation actually, I have a pre settlement status valid till 2026 but don’t have a brp card but I intend to travel to india but same time afraid that I will be able to enter back to uk without any issue
