EU settlement scheme (family member) border control stamp

Hello,
I’ve crossed the border twice on my EU settlement residence card. The first time the border control officer said he’s never seen these and wasn’t sure if he should stamp it but decided to do that. Today I was coming in again and got no stamp?..
Anyone knows what the rule is? Should I ask to get it stamped next time?
