EU SETTLEMENT SCHEME COA

Hello ,
I’m non EU and my partner is from Poland.
I applied for EU settlement scheme online and submitted by biometrics on 4th November and received my COA on same day ,so I submitted that to my employer and my employer have done the ECS check and HO replied that i need to submit my biometric card before I go back to work .
My question is can I work during my application is in process or anyway to find out my Rights.
Any help will be must appreciated ..
