Before just explain I'm a non-EU national person and I lived in Ireland republic of, from 2017 to 2020 with my British Citizen spouse under the EEA Family permit which granted 5 years.

I applied for a visa around the end of 2019 and got the Vignette around in mid 2020 which valid for 6 months on my passport.
Then we entered the UK around august 2020 eventually got a full 5years BRP card in early 2021(Pre-settled status).

I read some information from law firms explaining what is Surinder Singh route is.
One of the pieces of information I read, sounds like I could get Settled or Pre-settled status via Surinder Singh Route.
So after read this, I started so wonder if there were any possibility that I could get a settled status instead a pre-settled status ?.



Have anybody got some idea on this question? if so, could you able to share your information, please?

You will be granted Settled Status, after completing five continuous years residence in the UK as the family member of a qualifying British citizen.

I copied and pasted the thread I read from online down below

"When we look closer at the Surinder Singh route, it effectively means that a partner or family member of a British citizen who lived with them in an EU Member State or Switzerland can apply for settled status (with indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK) or pre-settled status (with limited leave to enter or remain in the UK) under the EU Settlement Scheme."

I assume I must misunderstand above thread without mentioning how to transit from pre-settled to settled statu just for me it sounds like there are two options I can obtain Settled-status or Pre-settled status from the first stage of application.

You can obtain settled status or pre-settled status depending on your individual circumstances = how long you have already been in the UK.
