Wondering if someone can advise:

• Irish passport holder: born in Northern Ireland to parents born in Northern Ireland

• Born prior to January 1 1983, thus automatic British citizen by birth. Father not diplomat

• Currently living in EU with Non-EEA wife for past 5 years.

• Married since 2016 with daughter born in EU

• Non-EEA wife holder of residence card: family member of EU citizen

• No prior reason to 'return' to UK as working in EU

If wishing to relocate to UK:

• Is EUSS Surinder Singh route applicable as dual British-Irish citizen? Proof of British citizenship is by Birth place/certificate only

• 'Person of Northern Ireland' EUSS route requires evidence of not returning to UK prior to deadline 2021. Is the fact that we have been living/working in EU sufficient grounds for not returning?

There does not appear to be a category in EUSS explicitly for 'Persons of Northern Ireland' living in EU with Non-EEA spouse who are returning to UK after deadline. The examples of 'compelling reasons' for not returning before the deadline do not appear to include residence in EU member states. This exact provision is only outlined for British citizens by Surinder Singh.
