British Citizenship or not for sponsoring dependent Parents under EUSS

Hi All,
I hope somebody can help me with this.
I'm a non-EU, my wife is EU, and we both have settled status. I want to call my dependent parents to live with us in the UK in the next couple of years under EUSS, and I believe my wife (EU national) has to be the sponsor for them.
If I apply for British citizenship, do we have to go through the Lounes application for my parents? I'm aware that if my wife takes British citizenship then we will have to go through Lounes application, but I can't find any information on how does it affect the application for my parents if only I'm a British citizen.
Also, do you think postponing British citizenship is a good idea if I want to call my parents given that Lounes application is more complex than the EUSS sponsorship application?
