Hi everyone.

Im italian and my wife is Mexican. We both have pre settled.

Her presettled expire in 2026 but her residence card expired this month.

She did already the application for the new residence card and for the settled status.

My question is

Can we travel to my country and return to uk?

Can my wife enter back to uk with just pre settled and her passport ??

Mexicans dosnt t require visa to enter here.

Mexicans dosnt t require visa to enter here. Your wife may have to explain to the airline agent that Mexican nationals have visa free status for UK, the expired card as such won't be accepted for boarding. Perhaps the revelevant Home Office web page. But she should show the expired card on arrival in the UK, and explain, to avoid unnecessary questioning.

Yes it is a risk. you applied for the replacement card so all you can do is accept the risk and prepare yourself for the explanation at the border (you could bring the letter that confirms she has pre settled status and the confirmation email she applied for a new residence card) or postpone the trip and only travel when she gets her new BRC.
