Hi,
I helped a friend apply for settled status about 6 months ago but they've not heard back and now they need to travel and return after the expiry date of their card which is 31/12/24.

I have tried to update their renewed passport online but there is an error message stating that because of their most recent application, an update cannot be made at this time until the decision of their settled status application.
I read that they cannot travel without linking their passport to their online account so they're stuck and need to travel. We used their BRP card to set up their online account and not their passport (as this was an option as well) hence we now need to link the passport.

How do we contact the home office to ask about this? They still have pre-settled status but they need to link their passport to the online system so that they don't have trouble on their return date which is after the "new rules?"

Thanks for your input

Put in a complaint with UKVI https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... -procedure and get in touch with your MP, the HO secretary, and the undersecretary for migration.

Hi,
Thank you. How do I contact the HO secretary and the "undersecretary for migration", what's undersecretary for migration? And do I contact all of these at the same time? Thanks

You can search their emails on google, just like you would for your MP. It is up to you if you want to contact them together or separately.
