NON-Urgent. EEA2 Residence Card in 2 valid passports? Ponder

I was just wondering if there is any rule preventing the UKBA from giving you 2 residence cards in 2 valid passports?

This way, if your country, as many countries do, allows you to have more than 1 valid passport in your possession simultaneously, it is very convenient.

You apply for a residence card to be stamped into your 1st passport, and then, in 2 years or so, send your 2nd passport to get another 5-year stamp on an EEA2 application.

This way, when it comes to applying for PR, you will be able to have another passport with the residence card in possession to travel, while your PR application is being processed with your other, almost expired card in it.

Just thoughts, really. Moreover, if UKBA clean up their act and process applications on time, it may not be a problem after all.

Technically, UKBA is not allowed to request the old passport, or card to be annulled? It's just confirmation of one's right, so not dependent on a serial number.
