Hi, I am a British citizen and my husband is Colombian. We came to Ireland 8 months ago and he has an EU Residency card for 5 years. Initially it was ideal to come here as I have family members whom were able to sponser us, in order for us to meet application requirements.

We now wish to move back to UK as my husband has been offered a job there and I would like to study. It has been difficult in these times for him to get work and so for us this is just what we need!

I understand under 'Surender Singh case' tht we may be able to re-apply for EU residency card in the UK. He has family permit to enter the uk. We wish to apply from within the country, as we have somewhere to stay. Whats the best way/forms for us? Many Thanks!!!

No First you need to apply for a EEA family permit for UK and once you are in the UK then you can apply for a family member of EU citizen residence card using form EEA2.

Thankyou!!! I have checked it out and yes it seems the eea2 form applies to us..he has eu family permit to visit UK - which ends in a month, so I take it that once it runs out we can then apply for the EEA2..wow such a minefield!! appreciate the tips ;-)

No need to wait for the EEA FP to 'run out'! You can apply for EEA2 RC straight away! (once you're in UK of course! )
