Hi Everybody,

I have a EEA Family Permit. I will apply for residence permit once i am in Uk. I was just wondering if somebody can tell me how much time does it take to get the resident permit of UK.

You can't if u r not accompanying or living with your EEA wife as you've indicated in ur previous posts.

The EEA2 Residence Card (which you will apply for once in UK) should be granted within six months from date of application!
But it has been known to take a lot longer than that in many cases.
So brace yourself for about six months (or more).

(Ooops! Didn't realize it was the guy with the Czech wife he plans to leave behind!)

As previous poster have clearly told you that you can't apply for a resident card if your wife is not with you in UK and if she is with you then it should take 6 months to process but in most cases processing time was more then one year..check this link for more information on EEA2

probablt because UK resident permit is more important than being together with wife.

It's not a residence permit, it's a Residence Card.

Thanks to all of you for your quick response. if it is going to take even more than six months then how will i stay in uk. do i need to come back or i can be in uk till the time my residence card is not ready because my eea family permit is valid for only six months....

Hey guys,

thanks for helping me before but that doesn't give you right to hurt somebody by your comments. anyways i don't need to show u guys that how much i care about my life partner. But i don't say you said it on purpose because may be i would have behaved the same way till the time i don't know about the insights. I had given the reason in next post also why we are doing this.

With or without a Residence Card, with or without an EEA Family Permit, you can reside in the UK with your EEA national spouse for as long as she is exercising a Treaty right there (beyond the initial three months).
