Can I get my passport back??

At first, I really appriciate people who gave me advices when I posted sometimes while I was in the procedure for the EEA FP.

I've been in the UK since last December having EEA FP,and my husband&I are going to apply for EEA1&2 in a few days. We've planed to travel abroad in the Easter this year, so I need my passport in the period. I don't expect our EEA1&2 will be issued before the Easter, even if we send the application right now, as its on the 16 Feb already.

Then, can I write and enclose a letter to the UKBA demanding to get my passport back for the Easter time, when we submit all relevant documents? and if i can get my passport back after we submit our documents, is the procedure for our EEA1&2 remained? or, is our application withdrawn if I get my passport back??

I've read some applicants tried to get their passport back while the procedure was ongoing, but I wonder if I can make it even if it happens quite soon after we submit our applications.(for example, submitting applications on 17/2,and getting my passport back before 31/3)

I am happy to hear any of your advices/experiences!

It’s not a problem to request return of your passport for EEA applications – they say to allow at least 10 working days for return of passport, but allow more just to be safe. You can request it back as soon as they’ve lodged your application in the system – it’s fastest to ring and check as COA can take a long time to arrive.

Thank you for advice!

I've written a letter describing that I'd like to request my passport return before the 30th of March, and I'll definitely send it back immediately after the 4th of April to the UKBA, so I'll enclose this letter as a part of our EEA1&2 documents.

And, I'll ring and check them if the process goes as it should be!
