I'm interested to hear your reasoning behind this? How is it easier to do checks on applicants in the North?

locality my be a factor when processing applications as these are done in Liverpool which is north of England. I will need a sample of Ten applicants on here who have recently had their RC.I may be wrong but there are conspirancy theories going on this board on why certain applications are not taking long to process.

Well, in that case then, I look forward to hearing the results of your study. Try to keep in mind though, that the UKBA caseworkers have access to telephones!

My Wife got her RC today, dated from 5th March.

We applied for RC on 27th December, received COA 18th January.

Delighted.

I'm Irish/UK Dual National, applied before the McCarthy changes were implemented, received FP, my wife arrived in UK in November.

EDIT - Just read the above, we live in London.

No, just waited.

And when you take Christmas/New Year holidays into consideration, our wait wasn't much over 2 Months.

We're surprised and delighted.

Maybe if you don't irritate them with continous emails, telephone calls they just get on with approving your documents. From scouring through the timelines on this forum it seems people who applied in December 2012 /January 2013 are getting their Rc's earlier than Sep/Oct 2012 applicants i may be wrong.

And when you take Christmas/New Year holidays into consideration, our wait wasn't much over 2 Months.

Hi all,

I've been reading this thread for months and found it very comforting, knowing I wasn't the only one waiting for a UKBA answer. I would like to share our timeline today:

11/09/2012 - EEA2 application received by UKBA (we only included basic documents: marriage certificate, one payslip, one letter from employer, bank statement, a couple of proof of adresses - bank letters etc)

14/10/2012 - Somewhere mid October we received COA with this date

06/03/2013 - I (EEA national) sent a kind letter to the UKBA explaining my husband had to travel at the end of the month and I'd appreciate it if they could resolve our case before the deadline expired on 11/03/2013 - I also emailed our MP on this day who says he also contacted the UKBA on my behalf

11/03/2013 - I called the UKBA who told me they sent me a parcel on 08/03/2013

13/03/2013 - We received all our paperwork back with the Residence Card stuck in my husband's passport. It was issued on 06/03/2013

I just emailed the UKBA thanking them for their prompt response.

I wish all of you all the best.

Request Passeport

Post by Ishy » Fri Mar 15, 2013 8:38 am

Does anyone have the UKBA phone number to request our passport back.
I have requested my passport over 10 days ago and still nothing in the ukmail tracking. Just wondering if anyone has ever contacted to chase the return of their documents?

I just want to email or call them and get them to send it asap.

EEA2 sent: 20th Oct 2012
EEA2 Received: 22nd Oct 2012
COA sent: 30th Oct 2012
Requested Passeport back: 04th March 2013

In short, there is no phone number to request back passports - it has to be done by email to: LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk

If you want to try to call them, the number is: 0151 672 5626 (I think it's option 1 then option 2 - that should get you through to a person).

Good luck!

Hello Flipper77,

Thanks for your response and your encouragement. I can see that you had to request your passport 4 times, 3 times by email and once by mail.
You waited 2 weeks between the first and the second time you requested them… That’s a lot.
And I don’t even think that the third time you requested it by email was the one that triggered the sending of your documents. I think it was probably your mail.
Did you send that to the UKBA address we used in our application?

I think I will wait until it’s 20 days, then send them another email.

I don't think it was any of my emails or letter - I also involved my MP, and I think it was his involvement and contact with them that finally got them moving. But yes, I did send my letter in the post to the same address I had originally sent my application.

I also complained and escalated my complaint (due to the fact they hadn't responded) - and I think this is why I have received my RC as well.

Here's the full timeline of getting my passport back:
14/11/2012: Emailed RODR form to RODRequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
14/11/2012: Realised the email should have gone to LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk, so forwarded to that address
28/11/2012: Phoned UKBA (0151 672 5626 - actual number behind 0845 010 5200), and was told to send the request via email again
28/11/2012: Sent second email to LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk
03/12/2012: After reading various posts on this forum, I decided to contact my local MP's office, to seek their assistance. They made contact with the UKBA on that day, and were told that both email requests were logged in the system and would be followed up (The MP's office then have to wait for the UKBA to come back to them)
10/12/2012: Contacted an immigration lawyer to see if they could assist. They said they would be able to, however there were no guarantees that they would be successful (didn't pursue this route)
11/12/2012: Sent a letter (Special Delivery) to the UKBA, detailing my email requests, and asking for return of the passports to allow us to travel for Christmas. I included a return Special Delivery satchel
11/12/2012: Sent a complaint to UKBACustomerComplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, explaining the contact attempted so far (yet to receive a response)
12/12/2012: Phoned UKBA again, was told once again to send another email request. I spoke to 3 different people (person who answered the phone, their supervisor, then the supervisor's supervisor) - all gave the same response - "send another email". There seems to be no route to escalate the request within the UKBA, despite them missing their 10 day "deadline" twice. Sent my third request to LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk
12/12/2012: Spoke to the MP's office again, and they were yet to hear anything from the UKBA. They then escalated their request (they seem to have their own 'relationship manager' within the UKBA) - and advised me that they would provide a response by the end of the next day.
14/12/2012: MP's office phoned to say that the UKBA had dispatched the passports the previous evening (Special Delivery Next Day) and would be with me that day - waited in, however they didn't show up (assume they were sent too late to make it "next day")
17/12/2012: Passports arrived! (Special Delivery, Saturday Guarantee - not in the satchel I provided (however Royal Mail failed to get them here on Saturday))
EEA2 Application sent: 09/10/2012
Received by UKBA: 10/10/2012
COA received: 19/10/2012 (dated 17/10/2012)
Passports requested: 14/11/12, 28/11/12 & 12/12/12 (email) and 11/12/12 (mail)
Passports received: 17/12/2012
RC received: 14/02/2013
