FMRS confirmation letter

Dear all,

I have recently posted my application for Family Member Residence Stamp to the Liverpool UK Border Agency, it has arrived on the 8th of May according to the tracking system. it's been more than a week now and I still haven't received any confirmation letter from the UK Border Agency. Is it normal? over the past year, i always received the confirmation letters within a week of them receiving my other applications.

So now i'm worried that the new government might affect the progress of my application. I have sent an email but only received an automated response, which I have already expected (just wanted to do whatever i could). I'm not gonna fax over my enquiries as i read somewhere that they're always slow in responding to faxes.

So shall I give them a call and will they be kind enough to tell me "yes, you will be receiving the confirmation letter shortly" or at least let me know what happened to my application? any advice on what i should do now?

all advises will be highly appreciated. thanks xx

I made the call to H/O yesterday with same issue you have raised.
It seems they dont send acknowledgement! The guy picked the phone yesterday from H/O asked me the Parcel number from the Royal mail, which you can track yourself online through the Royal Mail website.

i was a lil pissed off at the royal mail special delivery, as there's no signature on the ePOD and that always happened to my posts, but it's been stating that my post has arrived the next day i posted it. so i suppose the UK Border Agency did receive my application. anyway, thanks for your post, im gonna ring the UKBA, too.

Also on the ePOD,there was no signature of the receiving part(H/O),and also the date they received my mail, only the number of items in the parcel!
Thus why i called H/O to see weather they received my mail.Anyway they confirmed that they received the second day after i posted.

hi maganzo, you were lucky cause they were so kind they told you that they received your post. many months ago, i rang them up to ask if they have received my application (a different one) they said they couldn't tell me anything and I had to check with the royal mail. I understand i should deal with the royal mail, as the ePOD was not available for nearly a week, that really made me worried. anyway, i hope that they will be processing my FMRS application within the service standard. please post here again if you have any updates on your application. many thanks xx
