Hi,
I am hoping to get some answers and also opinions about WRS. It seems to me that much of the information given on their website is left to free interpretation and can be very missleading.

My situation:
I am EEA8 citizen, came to UK after my country has joined EU and have reistered self employed which I have remained following two years. Applied for Residence Card and received.
I have ceased self employement in 2006 and was employed by my former employer. Had stable working history.
I have been workingfor my new employer for few months. I have now been told by the WRS that I have been "technicaly working illegaly in the UK after I have not applied for the WRS when entered employment as an employee".
Is it just me, or can everyone else see black on white what is says on their website:

"If you are self-employed, you do not need to register under the Worker Registration Scheme, but you must contact HM Revenue & Customs immediately to register for tax purposes. There is a £100 fine for late registration.

When you have completed 12 months' work with no more than 30 days' break, you will no longer need to register on the Worker Registration Scheme"

Have I not completed 12 months' work when working self employed for two years???

I have not had this handy when talking to the guys from WRS who by the way admitted that I was hs fourth call with the same issue (10 in the morning!) and that they have legal representatives calling them up too...

I was assured no sanctions againg me or employer as not deliberate but I simpy do not feel that I should have to apply and pay for anything after having worked and paid taxes here for 6 years now!

I am thinking of getting help with CAB but was hoping to get some feedback from similar experiences.
