Hi,
I don't know whether this is the right place to post my questions or not.

I came to UK on Work permit visa in 2007, In January 2010 I applied for Residence Card as a family member of EEA. Last Friday after six months I got RC.

I have two questions:
1- previously I have to register at the police, but after getting the RC as a family memeber I'm exempt. but the UKAB didn't ask for my police registration certificate, what should I do?

2- Can I apply for PR after complete working 5 years regardless to my immigration status. I mean I had three years working in the UK before getting RC family memeber then I need another two years, or I have to stay another 5 years based on the RC?

Any reply will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Using your numbering :-
  1. I think you should contact the Police, taking your RC with you, and invite them to close their record for you.
  2. Please explain more. That is, when did you because a family member of an EEA citizen? On marriage? If so I suspect that your 5-year period starts from the date of that marriage.

I don't understand, because as your wife is German, she does not need a "work permit visa"! Or has your wife only recently become German? If so, when?

The important question here is .... when did your wife start exercising Treaty Rights in the UK? That is, when did she start working in the UK? Employed? Self-employed? As a student? Or as a self-sufficient person?

My wife is German since birth. and she came with me in 2007 without a Visa. I'm the only person who a work permit visa.
-we are married since July 2007.
-she starts searching for Job early 2008.
-she started her work in Sep 2008.
-Work permit visa expired in 2011.
- EEA2 application in Jan 2010.
- RC received and valid till July 2015.

I hope these details clarifies my point.

Cheers

You are not required to report to the Police in the UK. You are the family member of an EEA citizen who is working in the UK.

If British citizens are eventually required to report to the Police, then you (and your wife) can also be required to report to the Police. But only then...
