EEA Family Permit

Hi,
I just have a few questions.
I am on an Irish passport and my fiance is South African. We live here in South Africa. Once we are married, we are going to apply for a EEA Family Permit so we can move back to the UK together.
1- Rob and I were only together for 6 months when we got engaged. When we get married, we would have been together a year. We have loads of proof of our relationship but do you think the short time will count against us?
2- We dont have a lot of money between us. If my parents put money into our account so we can print of our bank statements to show that we have money, would this be fine? How much money do we need to show we have?
3- We are going to crash at a friends place in London, can he write us a letter to say that we are staying with him when we arrive?
4- Rob and I are going to sign our marriage certifiacte a week before our actual wedding. Can we then apply for our visa or do we have to wait until after the actual wedding?
5- Are these visas often turned down?
6- Hopefully once we get over there, will Rob need a Schengen to travel with me through Europe?
Thanks
