I am very new as a member in this forum, but i have been reading various posts from members. Here is my story-
I am a non Eu husband of British citizen.my wife lives in Holland and we met during one of her holiday to africa in 2003,
we got married in africa in MAY 2006 and i came to holland to live with her in 2008, where i applied and receieve 5yr Rc as spouse of eu citizen. While in holland she gave birth to a baby girl in 2009 and we then decided to move back to uk in december 2009.I got EEA FAMILY PERMIT to accompany my wife to UK.
Getting to Uk, I applied and got 5yr RC in May this yr.Valid till MAY 2015.
Now when do you think I will be eligible to apply for PR?
Does the 5yrs continious residence compulsory, given the fact that am a spouse of British Citizen, I've been living in europe since 2008, and the Marriage actually took place in May 2006,but uk RC approved in May 2010
Myself and my wife have been in employment since we came to uk and we are now expecting our 2nd child in december.

Under the EU rules, you will not qualify for Permanent residence until Decemeber 2014.

If you want to acquire a Permanent Residence status, you have to live the UK, and apply in Holland or the African state for which you are a national for "Indefinite Leave To enter" KOL required. This will give you a Permanent status instantly,as you have been married and lived outside UK as man and wife in a subsisting relationship, for a period of 4 years or more.

Please note that inorder to acquire this status, you have to sit and pass the Knowledge of Life in the UK test (KOL) first, and this Indefinite Leave to remain will be granted.

Is this type of indefinite leave to remain exclusive to partners of british citizens or partners of any national with permanent residence in the uk?
