Hi All,

I'm a Romanian national, can I apply for ILR under these circumstances

1. I applied and received a 2 year work visa in 2005
2. Romania joined the EU in 2007.
3. I applied for the worker registration certificate in 2007, and it was granted to me because I worked in the UK for 2 years prior to Romania joining the EU.
4. I have now lived and worked continuously in the UK for a total of 5 years, (2 years prior to Romania joining the EU + 3 years after Romania joined the EU)

Can I apply for permanent residency?

Thank you for your help, its greatly appreciated.

First of all what you are refering to is known as PR and not ILR as you are from EEA. Tlo the best of my knowledge you will be eligible to apply for PR after 5 years of you being granted the WRS. i.e. the clock starts after Romania joined the EU. If you have worked here for 2 years prior to that it will not be counted.

Seniors please correct me if I am wrong.
