http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/e ... sing_times is the Freedom of Information Act request and the UKBA response from 16 July 2010 is quoted below
1. I would like to request up to date information about the processing times of EEA2 applications.

The current processing time for EEA2 applications that do not require further enquiries is 2.7 months.

2. Please inform me about average processing times in the last 12 months and the share of applications which took longer than 6 months.

The average processing time from June 2009 to May 2010 was 9 months for EEA2 applications.

25370 applications were decided after 6 months. 13160 applications were decided within 6 months.
9 months! Amazing that they got away with that!

Interesting. Some time ago, I think it was last year, they threw more caseworkers at EEA cases (which makes me wonder from where the announced 500.000 public sector workers will be 'released' in the coming years...). Obviously, it hasn't achieved much or the number of applications has gone up or the application are checked more strictly...

I also wonder what 'further enquiries' means. Obviously, those were necessary in at least two thirds of the cases.

And since we are playing number games here: In the 12 months period before May 2009 the number was obviously 8 months.

Did somebody get it for at least 3 months? I'm just wondering, because I've sent my application as well and it would be great to get it for 3 months, as I'm waiting 2 months already...

Remember that these are AVERAGE quoted processing times. Some will be processed faster and some slower, though NONE should take more than 6 months.
