Hi,
I am EU citizen living and working nearly 1 year in UK. My boyfriend is from Pakistan, living and working 4 years in UK. Now he has a problem because it is very probable that he wont get Visa for living in UK. I dont want him to go to Pakistan, thats why im interested, which option how to stay together do we have. Would be the marriage with him here in UK one of the option how he could stay here in UK? beacause I am as well just a foreigner here in UK and I am not sure if this step would be helpfull. But the marriage would be for me the last option, because I know I dont want to marry so far. I have read something about registered partnership and I want to ask what is it.
Thank you for your answers.

As long as you are working, self-employed or studying with health insurance you can apply for EEA family permit for your partner.
You need to be living together with evidence to prove it of it at least 2 years.
If you are only together a year, I would suggest that you either wait another year until you build up your evidence, or get married and apply as spouse of EU citizen.

thank you for answer,
but what in a case if it wont be able to wait (if he wont receive extended Visa)? Just marriage? I want to ask as well if somebody knows about conditions who can get a extended Visa and who not now, because my friend lives 3 years in UK, he studied here, he works, pays the tax, so i think its not fair just to send him back to pakistan, when he started his career here in UK.

Hi, The best option for both of you is to get married. In uk or you can go with your partner in his home country. and get married their. then he can apply for eea family permit from pakistan. it takes around three months to issue eea family permit from there. And if you don"t want that your partner will go back then you can apply permission to get marry before his current visa expire.
And about why your partner can!t extend his visa possibly that is because of the new uk govt. made so many changes in immigration rules. and maybe your partner dose not fulfilled there requirement.
good luck.

that's not necessarily the best option when the OP doesn't want to marry yet!

The only option except marriage is defacto relationship, but a two or more years relationship pattern has to be shown to the UKBA (bills/statements etc) + if there is a child involved in the relationship it will cement the case more and even in some cases time together is overlooked (not in its entirety) coz of kids. It depends on what visa currently your partner is on, if its a student visa try extend it for another year and when that is finishing apply for EUFAM based on defacto relationship, but if he has PSW which is running out then the other option for him is to go on general HSMP visa that is if he can secure a job over 30k...if he gets that then he will be grand for 3 years as he wouldnt be in need of a EUFAM stamp as such coz he can live and work freely on that visa.

Hi,
If I could give my humble opinion.
I suggest your Pakistani boyfriend should apply for family permit as soon as possible and claim you both related as unmarried partner. You will need to provide good evidence to prove that.
On the other hand your boyfriend can apply from Pakistan provided you both guys come here, get married and apply. I cannot guarantee but try to get the visa issued within one month from the date of application.
