I have Italian Permanent Residence (Indefinite Stay) as I have stayed there for six years. But I am Pakistani national and in May got Tier 2 visa as Italian chef in UK and now working in restaurant. I want to ask if I can change my European Permit here in UK or I can change my visa free meaning that I would be able to work without sponsorship letter. If you can guide me in this matter I will be very thankful to you.

Is your Italian residence based on directive 2004/38, i.e. as a family member of an EEA national?
If so, then you can come with your EEA spouse to the UK on the same basis, but you have to start from scratch again: apply for a Residence Card with form EEA2, etc.
