REQUESTING YOUR PASSPORT BACK FROM THE HOME OFFICE

Hi every one, i am new to the forum and i need advise.
i am Nigerian living in the UK and my older brother(half brother) is a German passport national through marriage he lives here in the UK. He applied for A EEA resident permit for me as an extended family in 2010.
My application was unsuccessfully base on the following grounds:
1) I didn't provided enough evidence of my relationship with sponsor( i provided, my birth certificate and his birth certificate bearing our last names, our fathers marriage certificates and his passport)
2) I didn't provided any evidence of me depending on my sponsor in another EEA state\country
3) I didn't provided enough documents to show that my sponsor is a qualify person( i provided my brothers German national id , his pay slip, bank statement and letter from his employer here in the UK to support my claim)
I was given appeal , which i went for but the out come of my tribunal was not very good , it was not fruitful but i was given another right to appeal against the MJ (IMMIGRATION JUDGE) decision in the upper tribunal
which i did . To sum it up the Upper tribunal made 3 comments
the third one which was the final decision was there's : Since i am an over stayer, there's nothing stopping me re applying to the HOME OFFICE in relation to my partner and son who have been given INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN in the UK
My question now is how do i request my passport back from the home office? because i need a photo id to prove who i am when i am getting married in the registrar office. Do any one have any advice for me.
