Hi All, My situation is the following, hope you can help me.

I have been in a relationship for nearly a bit more than 4 years with my French partner but just over 2 years living together with her and her son, we get along as a family and i play the paternal role. the problem is we have no evidence of living together as all the bills are under her name as she owns the flat. all our bank statements, phone bills etc are sent to a business address. In the other hand we have pictures, emails, holiday reservations, witnesses, that can support that we have been in a stable relationship for a long time. Do you think that would be enough to satisfy the home office ??

What other proof of evidence is valid? are there any personal interviews so they can verify that we are a durable unmarried couple. Thank you!!

Your case look weak. You must have to show something that strongly suggest that you are in durable relationship i.e. council tax bills, utility bills, joint or individuals bank statements at the same address, doctors appointment letters etc...

:( thanks for your help!! Unfortunately I don't think we have those documents on both names. maybe one off but that would not be strong enough i assume.

We have bills sent to the same address which is her office, but none are joint, I guess that just makes it worse.

Fortunately for you, they do not all have to be joint. As long as you have some things in your name going to the same address this can be acceptable as confirming cohabitation. You'd need 3 or 4 pieces of evidence per individual going back 2 years (ideally) or 2 or 3 joint ones (I think). They have to be from two or three different sources, so they can't all be from your Barclays bank.

Hope this helps a bit.

Good Luck

Thanks Qman! Does it matter if it is a business address and not a residential address?

What other documents can I use to support my application?

In the case that it is successful, am i allowed to work whilst waiting? I ve read some posts and apparently you can work only if you are married??

Thank you very much
