Hi may partner and I recently got married and I am planning to apply to eea 2
My question is seeing as I have been in the UK since 2006 can I apply for EEA 4 instead?
Not sure what under eea regulations mean?
Does it mean I had to have been in the uk through EEA because I was here on a student visa then psw
Can someone clear this for me please??

You can only apply for EEA4 after being married/cp with an EEA citizen exercising treaty rights in the UK for 5 years. I do not know your situation well but I would say EEA2.

This is correct. Five years of living in the UK is NOT enough. One should be a EU family member during all those 5 years.

continously living in the uk for 5 years - with an eea national spouse who is exercising treaty rights.. (to recieve PR)
unless the EEA NATIONAL is PR holder then you can apply for ILR after 3 years following the UK Law instead of the EU Rule..

If the EEA national is PR holder you can apply for ILR after
2 years but this requires the non EEA to be on a spouse visa under the immigrations laws.
