ILR in July 2014 based on 10yrs, want apply for student loan

Hi all
I hope to get an answer. I will be applying for the ILR next summer based on long residence and just started MBA at Lincoln, but I want to apply for a student maintenance loan from government.
Do you think I should better not to because it may somehow affect my future application (I guess as international they expect us to pay for own maintenance, but I dont have right to work and my monies are getting really low due to family circumstances).
I was told I need to show the bank statements along with ILR application.
