Yes, but you should have either EU rear plate, ie UK plate with GB and EU 'flag' or GB sticker. In practice not many bother.

Check your insurance, might only cover you for holidays not work or long stay. and it will be most likely only Third Party. I had to get special cover, about £60 a month.

Bear in mind there are toll roads everywhere - not just motorways, and the Dublin Port Tunnel will relieve you of many Euros without you even knowing until you get a big bill. It used to be about 30 Euros a pop in Rush hour!! There are number plate recognition cameras on the bridges and they have access to DVLA...

They use Kms in Ireland, so that 100 sign isn't 100mph on the Motorway...

You can turn left on a red light if no traffic. There are bus lanes but cars use them all time as far as I saw, and a red light means stop but six more cars can go through, watch that, never trust the lights.

Otherwise much like UK....

Dont forget the requirement of the UK driving licence that you have to notify change of address.

It might pay to apply for exchange to Irish driving licence for 55 euros. Bearing in mind the changes in Surinder Singh route.
