Apprenticeship on spouse visa

Hi lovely people,
I just got my first spouse visa. I had a look into apprenticeships and I am a bit confused. From what I could understand all of them are in some way funded by the government. Now I am not 100% sure I am eligible for them because I get different responses. Do I have to reside in the UK/EU for 3 years? Will taking an apprenticeship jeopardize my visa extension (will they class it as a public fund)?
Is there anyone who finished an apprenticeship while on spouse visa? All your answers are highly appreciated!
