BRP and new passport

Hai. I lost my Indian passport upon arrival in the UK
I got a new passport and collected my BRP from the post office. My BRP does not have any information about my new passport. What should I do for that. Will I have to pay any penalties if I did not update my passport number in the home office. Will I have any issues in the future. Pls reply.
