Hi All,
I recently arrived and i want to get NI number.
please let me know the recent timelines for getting NI(National Insurance Number).
How many days it might take for getting the actual number

10 days to NI no. and 12 weeks for the card.
You need to call Jobcentreplus and tell them.
still i didn't get the ni

but i applied for the NI in oct 2010 end. but still now i didn't get any communication back.
please let me know where can i check the status.

Hi Priya!
There's no option to check the status. Usually they send NI number along with a letter earlier than NI card. Did you get that one? And it take 2 to 3 months to get NI Card. So hopefully you'll get card 1st week of new year.
Moreover you can contact with your nearest JobCentrePlus with your proof of ID and Address.
