Travel to the UK on my Tier 1 Visa to attend a Training?

Hi
I have recently got the Tier 1 Visa for the UK.
I plan to move permanently to the UK in July this year. However I have an urgent query, and I would really appreciate if someone could answer it.
I have an upcoming 5-day training in the UK in May. So my question is that can I travel to the UK to attend this training using my Tier 1 visa or do I have to apply in some other category of the visa to attend this training?
Thanks

You need to be smart about this. You can come here anytime provided the 'main' intention is to hunt for jobs. So while you are hunting for jobs, you can do anything in your spare time such as attending trainings, short courses etc because they all count towards improving your skills.
You dont need to be 'open' about it but strictly going by the law, Tier 1 is not meant to do training though Im sure it still wont be an issue if you can show proof that this training is towards improving you career skills

Thanks for the reply and I agree with your response! And anyways, I am planning to extend another week in the UK after my training so that I could explore the IT market there (and try to find a job)

For general information:
Btw, I have also checked this with the visa office however they said that I cannot use the Tier 1 visa to enter UK for the purpose of attending the training. And I will need to apply for a Business visit and state the reason on the application. Moreover they said that this will not affect or cancel my Tier 1 visa.
So in my case, I will not take the risk and apply for Business visit visa for this travel.
Thanks!!

Hello,
Just to be cautious. I have read somewhere that one can have only one valid visa at a time. Suppose, someone has a Tier1 and he applies for Tier 2 his tier 1 VISA is gone by default. I am not sure if this is applicable in your case. Might be some seniors can clarify or you can clarify with Embassy about this before going ahead.
I am sorry if I am wrong in my statement. Just be sure before you go ahead on the consequences of having 2 VISA's.
Wish you good luck.
Regards,
Aani
