STAGE I
I am a music composer so the designated competent body for my field is Arts Council England.

21 Sep 2017
materials posted from Taiwan.

27 Sep 2017
materials arrived early morning in the UK, which was actually a very good timing as Arts Council England asks Home Office to only forward the materials on Wednesday. Later that day Home Office notified that the application has been referred to Arts Council England.

26 Oct 2017
endorsement letter received

STAGE II

21 Nov 2017
materials submitted at application center. I paid for priority service.

27 Nov 2017
visa received

Overall, the waiting time for endorsement decision was approximately one month and for visa one week (w/ priority). Hope these information helps!

Hi Olijan,

Thanks for the very helpful post!

I'm currently in the process of getting documents together to apply for a Tier 1 in music. I was wondering if you might be able to expand on what type of documents you submitted in your endorsement stage (without getting TOO personal obviously :) ). I'm just a bit unsure of the best documents I could submit for "proof"!

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I am a music composer from Malaysia trying to apply for Exceptional Promise in Music too. Mind sharing what kind of documents can be submitted as evidences? And how long do you need to put together the application for stage 1?I have worked for a company that does film trailer music with a number of blockbuster movies but the problem is there is no written credits for trailers. What can I submit as proof? Can the company write a letter of support stating that I have worked for so and so trailers? I also have an imdb credit, but only one. Would printing the webpage out be counted as a strong evidence? Also do the documents have to be original, or they can be printed out from the web? Nowadays with a lot of music going digital, it is hard to obtain an actual cd cover anymore.

Thanks!!
