Help with ET Visa Timelines for Me and My Family

Hello everyone,

New member here. This board was really helpful in answering a lot of my questions.

I have received my Exceptional Talent endorsement on 21-Aug-2019 and have a few questions:
  1. I understand I have to apply for Stage 2 Visa within 3 months of endorsement, I also understand I need to travel to the UK within 30 days, and finally, I need to start the process for my BRP within 10 days of arriving in the UK (or is it just a collection of the card since my biometrics will be taken in the VFS center in Dubai when I apply for the Visa?). Are these understandings correct?
  2. I intend to apply for 5 years and 4 months and collect my BRP. But since I work in the UAE in a high paying job, I'm planning to come back to the UAE and start hunting for a job in the UK. Once I find a job, hopefully within one year, I can move permanently to the UK:
    1. Will the 5 years and 4 months visa/BRP become "void" if I spend a specific time outside the UK e.g. 6 months?
    2. Let's say I get a job after a year and move to the UK, will I be able to apply for my family to join me and will they be granted a Tier 1 ET dependent visa for 5 years, or will they get it for the remainder of 4 years and 4 months in this example?
Really appreciate your inputs!

There is no 'process'. You simply collect your BRP at the Post Office with your passport.

2a. Any absence of 180 days or more breaks your continuity of residence. So if you pick up your BRP and then leave for a year, then your residence for ILR will only start again when you return.
2b. They will get a visa with the same expiry date as your visa.

Tier 1 ET Stage 2 Application: Countries Visited

Hello again!

I'm in the process of submitting my Tier 1 ET Stage 2 application and have a question about the section related to countries visited outside the UK and the EU in the last 10 years i.e. "Travel history (other)" section.

I'm a Jordanian national but have been residing in the UAE for the last 12 years. I have probably visited Jordan for more than 25 times in the last 10 years. My family (dependents) also visited at least 10 times. Do I need to enter the details of all these visits? Usually, in Visa applications visits to the home country don't need to be mentioned, is it the case here as well?

Thanks in advance!
