Hello, I have a question about global talent visa extension. I have global talent visa (route 3: endorsed funder on the list approved by UKRI). At the time of my application, I applied for two years. Now after 7 months, I would like to extend my visa so that I can later apply for ILR. I have two main questions:

Extension of Global Talent Visa

Hello,

I have questions about extending my Global Talent Visa (Route 3: Endorsed Funder). I initially applied for a two-year visa and it has now been seven months since it was granted.
I'd like to extend my visa to facilitate a future application for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). I have two questions:

1) New Visa Start Date: Would the new visa start from the present date or from the expiry of my current visa (which is in one year and five months)? This is important because, in the first scenario, I would need a three-year extension to meet the ILR eligibility requirement (3 years on GTV), while in the second scenario, a two-year extension would suffice.

2) Endorsement Renewal: Does my visa extension require a renewed endorsement from the UKRI? Or, since my endorsement hasn't been withdrawn, can I proceed directly to the second stage of the visa application process?

Thanks for your time and assistance.

A new visa extension will be valid from the date of approval. The new visa is not tagged onto your current visa expiry date, that is not how it works.

No renewal but you must still be endorsed.

Why would you want to apply for an extension after only 7 months, it doesn't make sense. Simply apply for a 1 year extension close to the current expiry date.
