GTV for lecturer position

Hi everyone,

I have was offered a lecturer position and applied for an endorsement through the British Academy under the "exceptional talent" category.

I received a rejection with the reason being:
"The application did not sufficiently demonstrate that the position to which the applicant has
been appointed either:
1. Has responsibility for academic, research or innovation leadership and development;
or
2. Directs or leads an individual or team research or innovation project or programme of
work"

I provided an endorsement letter and job description which includes contributing to the development of modules and research activities. My job involves leading my own research projects, seeking funding and developing modules.

I want to apply for an appeal, but want to ask if anyone did an appeal before and whether there's anything I can provide to support my case ? beside the endorsement letter and job description?

I am eager to hear from people who had successful appeal cases or who had applied for GVT for a lecturer position.

Thanks

You need to get a letter from the university stating that your position includes teaching and research.

The lecturer position is not sufficient to get the endorsement. However, if the university showed that a big portion of your job is related to research, you have a chance.

Good luck.
