Hi there,
I would really appreciate your assistance, as it would save me the hassle of filling out forms if I am not eligible.
I have been offered a position as a Professor at a College of Higher Education, which is jointly offering Postgraduate and PhD programs in collaboration with a university in the UK.
Could you please advise whether I am eligible to apply for the GTV, or if I need to go through the Skilled Worker Visa route instead?
Thank you for your help!

Perhaps you could clarify:
The job offer you have is from an institution based in the UK or abroad (Pakistan?)?
You would have an employment contract with the UK institution?

Thank you for your message. I’d like to clarify the details regarding my job offer:
1. The job offer is from an institution based in the UK.
2. I am a Pakistani citizen and currently working at a university in Pakistan.
3. I completed both my postgraduate and PhD degrees at Russell Group universities in the UK.
I hope this provides the necessary information.

If the UK uni is willing to sponsor you for a visa then it's probably easiest to go for the skilled worker visa.
I believe the GTV is much more involved, as you may have gathered from the guidance on gov.uk.
If you have more detailed queries then others will comment. Best to review the application guidance for both routes first.

Thank you for the reply. I will be the employee of the college, so the job letter would be issued by the them
. I checked the documents required for GTV and they will provide me the same except it is the college not the university directly

If you're applying via the fast-track route (or Route 1) from the appointment in an academic position, you need to check that your employer is in the list of approved institutions by the endorsing bodies.

Thank you for sharing the link. I checked the approved universities. My college is jointly issuing degree program with the university on the list but the college's name is not there separately.
Does it mean, I have to go through skilled visa ?

For the fast track route, you need the support of your direct employer, who needs to be in the list of approved institutions. The fact that the other institution is in the list is irrelevant, they're not your employer.

It seems so, provided the college has a licence to sponsor migrant workers.
