Global Talent Visa

Hello,
I am a bit confused and would appreciate some advice.

I completed my Master’s degree in the UK and am currently on a PSW visa. I recently secured a Research Assistant (RA) position on a UKRI-funded project. My name was not included in the original grant application, but I was hired afterward.

I recently learned about the Fast Track route where RAs can apply for the Global Talent (GT) visa. However, I have a few questions:

The current project is for four months, but it is expected to be extended through different stages.

The grant funding is above £30,000.

My contract with the university is listed as Non-Contractual Staff.

Given these details, am I eligible to apply for the GT visa under this route?
I plan to request a supporting letter from HR as well.

Thank you for your help.

Under the fast track route, you need to apply for an endorsement first.

For research positions and Route 1, the endorsing bodies usually are reluctant to offer endorsement for people just starting their positions (or recent graduates). They have that condition written in their T&Cs.

In the statement of guarantee, the Director of HR needs to tell them how long you've been in the position for and relevant contributions to the project. I'm not sure how they would address the above in the statement if the project lasts only four months.
